A woman was taken to a London hospital after being hit by a car on a busy road.

The accident happened on the A20, London Road in Aylesford at the junction with Hall Road around 4.50pm.

The pedestrian, aged in her 40s, suffered head and leg injuries and was taken to Kings College Hospital.

Police were called at 4.50pm and Kent Highways were warning motorist to expect long delays in the area.
