Courtney Tulloch shows the style which brought him a silver medal on the pommel Picture: HELEN COOPER
Courtney Tulloch produced a superb performance at the British Gymnastics Championships in Essex to secure a silver medal in the under-14 competition on Sunday.
The Pegasus youngster produced a superb, error-free routine on the pommel for a score of 13.00 which was enough for a silver medal on the apparatus. Team-mate James Hall was 10th after an error on his dismount.
Tulloch was supreme on the rings, finishing with a double somersault dismount, to take gold on the apparatus and put him in a straight fight with Frank Baines, of Southport, for the overall title.
Baines outperformed Tulloch on the high bar and despite an excellent bronze medal routine on the floor, Tulloch had to settle for an overall silver.
Hall produced a fine score of 13.95 on the vault to finish fourth, missing out on a medal by just 0.1pts, and was seventh overall.
Fellow under-14 Adam Deans was 36th overall and Jonathan Mills was 13th on the vault after scoring 13.35.
Under-16 Joel Burch took overall 15th on Saturday, despite not having recovered from a virus, with a sixth-place finish on the rings.
Under-12s James Lamb and Joseph McMorrow were 45th and 52nd respectively.
