An elderly man was saved from a burning bungalow this morning.
Firefighters arrived at the house in Bearsted at 6am to find a woman in her mid 80s outside and two carers attempting to rescue the man, also in his mid 80s, from one of the bedrooms.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus entered the Lambourne Road building and helped to carry the man, who was suffering from the effects of breathing in smoke, to safety.
The cause of the blaze, which crews spent almost two hours tackling, is being investigated.
The man was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital by ambulance.
The elderly woman and both care workers — a man and a woman — were also taken to hospital for checks after breathing in smoke.
