Person taken to hospital after four-car crash on A274 Sutton Road in Maidstone

A person has been taken to hospital following a crash involving multiple vehicles on a busy road.

The four-car collision saw Sutton Road in Maidstone closed in both directions.

Police were called at around 3pm to assist ambulance crews, who were already at the scene.

The accident happened near the junction with Northumberland Road.

Two people were treated for injuries and arrangements were made to recover the vehicles.

The road was shut between Grove Road and Mangravet Avenue during this time.

A spokeswoman for the ambulance service said: “Crews assessed and treated two patients, before conveying one patient to Tunbridge Wells Hospital for further medical treatment and discharging the second patient at the scene.”

It is understood that their injuries were not life-threatening.

Traffic had returned to normal by around 4.20pm.
