Peter Nott says he believes it will take at least eight points from Maidstone's final four Ryman League Premier Division games to ensure their survival.

Maidstone ended a 10-game run without a win on Tuesday but the United boss has targeted victories against free-falling Ashford Town (Middx) at Homelands on Saturday and at home to Bognor next Thursday.

Nott (pictured) is also hopeful of picking up points from Monday’s trip to Hendon in the hope of securing their survival before the final day trip to second-placed Kingstonian.

He said: "I always thought the number needed would start with a five. We are on 42 points now and have got to beat Ashford and Bognor, it’s as simple as that.

"We are also more than capable of getting something at Hendon.

"If we can take seven points from the next nine, I’m not saying that would do it but it would go a long, long way. We’d still want results to go our way but it is in our hands and we want to keep it that way."

Club captain Peter Hawkins returns from a two-game ban and Chris Saunders could feature after receiving treatment on his foot injury at former club Charlton.

Ant Bodle (ankle) and Jermaine Darlington (knee) will be assessed before Saturday’s game.

Darlington’s three-game ban for his red card against Waltham Abbey will not kick-in until the start of next season.
