THE pilot of a light aircraft has died after crashing into a field this morning.

The accident happened at 11am in a field off Maidstone Road, Horsmonden.

Kent Fire and Rescue and Kent Ambulance Service personnel are still on the scene, but it is not thought that there were any other injuries.

At present the police have not been able to confirm whether the victim was male or female, or where the flight had originated.
