Police and ambulance crews outside Society Rooms Wetherspoon's pub in Maidstone town centre

A large emergency services response was spotted outside a town centre Wetherspoon's this evening.

Two police cars and two ambulances were photographed at the Society Rooms in Week Street, Maidstone, at about 7pm.

One passer-by said a stretcher was seen being taken into the building.

The teams are said to have been responding to a medical incident.

Most of the vehicles had left by 7.30pm, with one ambulance remaining on the scene.

The pub was said to be showing the England v France Six Nations Rugby match, where the hosts lost 10 - 53.

Police and the ambulance service have been asked for more information.
