A teenage boy has been discharged from hospital following a suspected stabbing which happened this morning.
The victim suffered a leg injury and a cut to his hand during the attack in Maidstone at around 9am.
This evening police were unable to confirm if he had suffered stab wounds and have not yet arrested anyone in connection with the incident.
Officers were called to Staceys Street at 9.37am after reports a teenager was injured.
The victim, who had a wound to his leg, had been struck across the head and had a cut to his hand, was found near the entrance to Job Centre Plus and was taken to hospital.
The incident happened outside the Shell garage on Royal Engineers Road although staff at the petrol station were unaware of the circumstances.
The section of pavement between the junction with Week Street and the entrance to the Job Centre Plus was cordoned off while investigations were carried out, with the majority of officers leaving the scene just before 11am.
