Police were called to KCC's headquarters in Maidstone this evening after a suspicious package was found.

Four patrol cars blocked the entrances to County Hall, in County Road, after being alerted to a suspicious incident just before 5.30pm.

A Kent Police spokesman confirmed the package was in fact an unattended rucksack and officers are in the process of leaving the building.
