Maidstone: Thomas Levey, 24, charged on suspicion of stealing sat navs, sunglasses and electrical accessories from Downswood

A suspected thief who was arrested early in the morning on a housing estate in Maidstone has been charged.

A patrol was called to Downswood following reports of suspicious activity at 2.50am on Thursday, July 26.

On arriving in Derringwood Drive, officers found 24-year-old Thomas Levey lying on the ground.

A rucksack was seized by the officers containing three sat navs, two pairs of sunglasses, a mobile phone, clothing, coins and electrical accessories.

Mr Levey, of Hayle Road, Maidstone was arrested and has been charged with three thefts from cars and the theft of a cycle.

He was remanded to appear by video link before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
