M20 shut by police between Blue Bell Hill and Aylesford after concern for person’s welfare

A motorway was shut by police responding to concerns for a person’s welfare.

All vehicles were temporarily stopped in both directions on the M20 between Junction 6 A229 Blue Bell Hill and Aylesford just before 4pm.

A police spokesman said: “Kent Police was called following concerns for the welfare of a person on Forstal Road, Aylesford, at about 3.20pm on Sunday.

“Officers, along with the ambulance service attended and the person was located safely and handed over to the care of medical professionals.

“The M20 was temporarily closed while emergency services dealt with the incident. It reopened at 5.30pm.”
