TWO 16-year-old boys who died in a head-on road crash earlier this week have been named by Kent Police.

They were Daniel Town and Paul Watson who both lived in the Maidstone area.

The tragedy happened at the junction of Lidsing Road and Dunn Street at Bredhurst, near Maidstone, at about 7.40pm last Monday when a BMW and a Renault travelling in opposite directions were in collision.

Daniel's family have issued a moving tribute to him in a statement issued through police.

It reads: “Dan loved life and gave such joy to all who knew him.

"He touched the hearts of so many people. He was the best son, brother and friend anyone could ever wish for. The world won’t be the same without him. God bless Dan.”

Police say members of Paul's family do not wish to speak publicly at this time.

The driver and a fourth passenger in the Renault were treated in hospital. Police say their injuries are not life-threatening.

The driver and a passenger in the BMW were also taken to hospital where they were treated for minor injuries and later released.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact the Kent Police's serious collision investigation unit on 01622 798538.
