At Kent Police headquarters in Sutton Road, Maidstone , Chief Constable Alan Pughsley was joined by Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Scott and all available personal as they stood outside in the rain at 11am.
Custody sergeant Mr Ratana, 54, originally from New Zealand, was killed by a handcuffed 23-year-old suspect in the early hours of Friday, September 25.
West Malling florist West Malling Flowers, run by Nicki Meader, has made a floral tribute to Sgt Ratana, at the request of one of his station colleagues who lives locally.
The 2ft square tribute includes a sergeant's chevrons, a thin blue line, the New Zealand flag and the officer's number.
