Police have reopened an A-road in both directions following a four-car crash.

Emergency services attended the scene of the accident on the A20 Ashford Road at Lenham.

The crash, between Faversham Road and the Texaco garage, happened at around 10.40am and Kent Police stopped traffic while they dealt with it.

A spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 10.42am to the A20 at Lenham following reports of a collision involving four vehicles.

"SECAMB and Kent Fire and Rescue Service also attended the scene. One person was taken to a local hospital.

"The road has since re-opened."

Traffic in the area has recently been affected by roadworks on the same section of the A20 with temporary traffic lights causing minor delays.
