Maidstone man rescued from River Medway by Kent Police

Police have pulled a man from the River Medway in a dramatic rescue.

Officers were called at 4.15pm to help ambulance crews search for a 40-year-old man who went missing from his home in Maidstone.

Family told police they suspected the man may be have gone to the river near the Lockmeadow shopping complex.

Officers found him in the water just before 5.20pm.

After being pulled from the river the man was taken to hospital.

He is not believed to be hurt.
