Police have recovered a stolen 4x4 from a motorway slip-road near Maidstone.

The vehicle, taken from London on December 4, was found on the coast-bound exit of the M20 at Junction 8 for Leeds and Maidstone services this morning.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: "Kent Police was made aware of an abandoned vehicle at 3am.

"Subsequent checks found the car to be stolen from the London area and recovery was arranged. The Metropolitan Police have been made aware."
