SEVENTIES teen pop idol Donny Osmond thrilled thousands of fans with some of his most memorable songs when he appeared at Leeds Castle, near Maidstone.

The 46-year-old, who once vied with Michael Jackson for the top of the charts, performed an evening concert in front of some 6,500 adoring fans.

The weather played its part, providing one of the warmest summer evenings of the year.

Donny performed old favourites such as Puppy Love, Any Dream Will Do and Crazy Horses, while big screens displayed pictures of his family to the crowd. Joining him on stage for some of the hits were two of his five sons.

Darlene Cavill, events co-ordinator at the event, said that although the audience was mostly middle aged, there were some youngsters there too.

She added: "It was really beautiful. It was a really full-of-fun concert. Everybody had a wonderful time."

Donny is currently touring the UK ahead of releasing his first album in four years, later this year.
