A key witness is being sought today after two bikers were seriously injured when they were in a crash with a Porsche car.

The pair came off their Triumph motorbikes in the smash in Langton Green, near Tunbridge Wells, on Sunday afternoon.

Both bikers, from Chatham, were taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital with serious chest and shoulder injuries.

Kent Police were called to Langton Road, close to the junction with The Green, at 4.55pm.

Officers have spoken to several witnesses and established the motorbikes - a blue Triumph and a black Triumph - were travelling towards Tunbridge Wells.

The car, a silver Porsche, was pulling out of a driveway.

Now PC Steve Donovan, the officer leading the investigation, is keen to speak to another motorcyclist who stopped at the scene at around 5.15pm before leaving towards East Grinstead.

It is believed he might have seen the two injured motorcyclists earlier that afternoon.

PC Donovan said: "He was a man in his 50s with a grey beard. He was wearing a leather jacket, sunglasses and a black old-style hard hat-type helmet and was riding a black and chrome-coloured hog-style bike.

"We don't believe he was involved in the collision in any way, but we'd like to speak to him to establish what he saw of the casualties earlier that afternoon."
