Power switched off at Borough Green railway station while emergency services attend to ‘casualty on the tracks’

A woman was taken to hospital after emergency crews were called to a “casualty on the tracks”.

No trains were running between Swanley and Maidstone East because of an incident at Borough Green and Wrotham station at around 1.45pm today (February 25).

On X, formerly Twitter, Southeastern Railway said just before 3.30pm that power had been “restored” to all lines and that services would resume “shortly”. It said just before 5pm services had almost been fully restored.

The British Transport Police and the ambulance service attended and a person was taken to hospital with “injuries that are not considered to be life-threatening”.

The British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to Borough Green and Wrotham railway station at around 1.45pm today (25 February) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

“Paramedics also attended, and a person has been taken to hospital with injuries that are not considered to be life-threatening.”

South East Coast Ambulance Service said crews assessed and treated one patient at the scene, before being taken by road to Tunbridge Wells hospital for further medical treatment.

The Air Ambulance Charity, Kent Surrey Sussex also attended the incident.
