A primary school has achieved an 'outstanding' Ofsted rating in every category on its very first inspection.
The education watchdog praised Bearsted Primary Academy's commitment to a delivering an exceptional education and said its inquiry-led approach to learning also developed pupils’ "independence, resilience and confidence"."
The report did not recommend any improvements and commended the school for establishing a highly effective curriculum for all pupils.
Bearsted Primary Academy opened its doors in September 2020 to an eager group of 37 pupils.
The school now has 263 students aged between three and 11, and at the time of the inspection in late January, there were no pupils in Years 5 or 6.
Inspectors reported the academy, located in Popesfield Way, Weavering, had created a strong learning culture over a relatively short period of time and recognised the dedication, passion, and enthusiasm of staff, pupils, and the support of the community.
The school celebrated the good evaluation given it started operating in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Despite years in the making, the coronavirus meant building work was put on hold, transition days were cut short and staff training had to take place online.
But in the face of added pressures, the schools, that is part of the Leigh Academies Trust, was determined not to let the virus scupper any more plans.
With regards to leadership, Ofsted stated: "Senior staff lead by example. They have ensured that much ground has been covered to establish an ethos that strives for excellence. Crucially, they recognise that excellent schools need to be built on firm foundations."
The academy, which is under the Leigh Academies Trust, had its inclusive ethos also praised by inspectors, with the report stating: "Leaders and staff know pupils well. They have a clear understanding of pupils’ varying backgrounds and the additional challenges that some families face."
Bearsted Primary Academy's approach to teaching and learning was labelled 'high-quality" by Ofsted, with staff delivering good learning through the framework of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme.
Principal Jane Tipple said: "We are absolutely thrilled with the outstanding rating in every area.
"This is a true reflection of the hard work and commitment of our staff, pupils and parents, and the incredible support of Leigh Academies Trust.
"Everyone is exceptionally proud of our pupils and everything they achieve.
"We are delighted and honoured to receive this recognition, but we are never complacent as we strive for excellence in everything we do to ensure all of our pupils continue to thrive”.
Leigh Academies Trust CEO, Simon Beamish, added: "This is a fantastic achievement for Bearsted Primary Academy and I am extremely proud of the academy's journey, from witnessing the laying of the building's foundations, to today where it is clearly providing education for a better world.
"The success of this inspection is a reflection of the expertise and dedication of the staff to continually go the extra mile for their pupils"
