White Horse Pub in Otham taped off by police after armed raid

A pub was cordoned off today after a major disturbance in a quiet village.

The force's helicopter, as well as armed officers, were called to the altercation in White Horse Lane, Otham, just before midnight.

A large number of people were involved in a physical and verbal confrontation, with some witnesses reporting seeing a possible weapon.

As a result eight people, which included six men and two women, were arrested on suspicion of affray - they were taken into custody as inquiries continue.

No serious injuries were reported and no weapons were found.

Pictures show multiple police vans and cars at the scene as a search was carried out, with part of the area remaining taped off.

Nearby residents said they could hear the helicopter over head for hours last night.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious.
