A poor puppy was left abandoned, tied to a post outside a veterinary surgery last night.
The dog, thought to be around eight-weeks-old, has been named 'Midnight' by staff at Mote Park Veterinary Surgery, after CCTV footage shows he was left between the hours of midnight and 2am today.
It's unknown what breed he is, but he is believed to be a lurcher cross breed.
A staff member at the vets said that he had become a bit of a character since being left behind and has been playing with toys.
He is also sat with staff behind the reception desk at the Northumberland Court surgery.
She said: "We're not quite sure on his age or breed, he's around eight weeks.
"He's really come out of his shell, he's adorable and sat behind the desk with us, whenever someone leaves him he barks."
Mote Park Vets posted on its Facebook page saying CCTV pictures show Midnight, also being called Reggie by staff at the vets, being tied to a post and left behind.
The post also reads: "He is a little bit skinny, but is in good health. We are going to worm, vaccinate and identichip him and take really good care of him.
"In the meantime we would be grateful for any offers of a good home for him. Please contact the practice and leave a message for Angela."
