Drivers were experiencing delays on a main route out of Maidstone today.

Both southbound lanes of the A229 Loose Road were blocked by a crash, between a van and a Nissan Micra between the junctions with Sutton Road and Armstrong Road.

Paramedics were called to the scene, at around 2.20pm, and a woman in her 40s was taken to Tunbridge Wells Hospital with back pain.

The Highways Agency was alerted due to an oil spillage. The road was cleared by 4pm.
