Teston Lane will also be closed to restrict access causing issues for anyone wishing to cross the bridge.

The first closure was from yesterday, when the route closed between 8pm and 5am, and it is planned to do the same from 8pm tonight.

Alternative routes have been given for both Lower Road and Teston Lane.

For Lower Road, drivers are advised to go via Ewell Lane towards Heath Road, then make their way back down via Dean Street and vice versa.

For Teston Lane, head towards the A26 Tonbridge Road, into Barming then down Farleigh Lane towards Station Hill. Continue and then meet up with Lower Road again.

Kent County Council has said the closure is necessary to enable carriageway repairs to be carried out.
