A newly opened restaurant in Maidstone has had to cancel its Mother's Day celebrations after the latest government advice on Covid-19.
In a statement, Madisons restaurant said: "In direct response to current government recommendations to avoid pubs & restaurants we have seen an unprecedented number of cancellations over the last few days.
"As a result, it is with great sadness that we have been left with no choice but to announce that Madisons restaurant today Friday March 20, will be closed temporarily.
"Apologies to all of you who had bookings, especially those looking forward to celebrating Mother’s Day with us.
"All bookings for the weekend of March 20, 21 and 22 will now be cancelled."
The restaurant on Gabriel's Hill opened in January on the site of former popular nightclub Strawberry Moons.
The team at Madisons says all future bookings will be addressed on a week by week basis.
"We urge customers who wish to cancel, to please do so via the OpenTable app or website.
"As for any deposits already taken against future bookings, we can offer the following two options.
"Your deposit can be used against a future booking when the restaurant re-opens.
"Your deposit will be refunded in full as soon as the restaurant re-opens.
"Should you have any questions, please email us at info@madisonsmaidstone.co.uk
"As a small family run business, we would like to thank you for your continued support and loyalty throughout this incredibly challenging time, and we look forward to welcoming you back in the near future.
"We will be keeping up to date with the daily developments and government information and will, in turn, keep our customers and staff informed via social media & our website.
"Finally, we want to thank you for your co-operation, understanding and patience during these uncertain times and hope you and your loved ones remain healthy and safe."
