Engineers working on a £40,000 project to replace around 110 metres of underground electricity cables are hoping to get the work finished early.
The work, carried out by UK Power Networks, started in Warmlake Road, Chart Sutton, on Monday and has a scheduled completion date of Friday, February 27.
The road is completely closed while these low voltage cables are being fitted and a spokesman from the electricity company said engineers are striving to have the work completed early.
A spokesman said: “Our engineers are working as quickly and as safely as possible on installing the new cables.
“We will try to ensure the project is completed early.”
