A road was partially shut after a car hit a horse near East Peckham this morning.

There were delays in both directions in Maidstone Road between the village and Nettlestead Green until just after 9am.

Police were called to the scene and were searching for the animal, which is believed to have escaped from a nearby field.

No one is believed to have been injured.
