A man has been charged with robbery and possession of an offensive weapon after a raid at a town centre post office.

The robbery happened at Kingleys in Kingsley Road, Maidstone, on Monday, September 21.

Unemployed, Leon Beckles, 33, of Loose Road, Maidstone, has been charged and remanded in custody until his plea and directions hearing on October 5 at Maidstone Magistrates' Court.
