Cold callers selling dusters and cleaning products have been targeting Maidstone households.

Kent Trading Standards said it is investigating reports of rogue traders operating in the Barming area of the town.

The fraudsters are claiming they are youth offenders who work for Textile Distribution, but this is not true.

The consumer watchdog said people use such sob stories to trick people into buying over priced goods.
