Long queues formed on the A249 this morning after a lorry shed its load of bricks.
Police cordoned off one of the Maidstone-bound lanes at Detling Hill at 5.45am, after reports of debris in the road.
The lorry is thought to have broken down shortly afterwards on the M20.
Police are remained at the scene for the next few hours, until the Highways Agency were able to clear the dust and debris and make the road safe.
The lane re-opened just before 9.30am.
