A child has been disciplined after taking a toy Taser gun into school.
It happened at Barming Primary School in Belmont Close, Maidstone.
After school ended, a Year 6 pupil chased other pupils around the playground with the "Taser" gun.
Real Taser guns are issued to the police and when fired give the target a high-powered electric shock which immobilises them.
Head teacher Chris Laker said of last Thursday's incident: "I didn't hear about the incident until the next day, but as soon as I was aware of it I called the pupil in and conducted a bag search.
"It was only a toy and not capable of harming anyone, but of course it is not appropriate to have it on the school premises and some of the other pupils had been frightened."
Mr Laker has spoken to the boy and to his parents and warned his staff to be on the look-out for such items in future.
He said: "It is great pity that toy manufactures consider it appropriate to sell such items."
The police were informed by a concerned parent, but after conducting their own investigations were happy to leave the issue to the school to handle.
