An 11-year-old girl is facing her first day of secondary school without the correct uniform after being told a shop could not deliver it in time.
Mike Hogg, from Tovil, has been left frustrated after paying £80 for two skirts, a badge and a PE skirt only to be told it will not be available due to supplier problems.
They are for his daughter Gabriella who left South Borough Primary School, in Stagshaw Close, Maidstone, in July.
He popped down to Pages Schoolwear, in Lower Stone Street, Maidstone last month to place an order for his daughter's new uniform.
He paid the full amount and was told he would be able to come and collect them on Thursday, August 15. But he has since been told that is no longer the case.
The 52-year-old said: "My wife went down to speak to the staff and they explained the suppliers have told Pages they can't get them the uniform until the end of September.
"My daughter is starting at The Malling School and Pages is the only shop in Maidstone that sells the uniform. The skirts are blue tartan and you can't go anywhere else."
'We are literally up the creek without the paddle at the moment'
He said the shop has asked for an alternative supplier to get the clothes to them by the end of August, but this is not guaranteed.
Mr Hogg went on holiday at the end of last week and added: "We go for two weeks so by the time we come back it's near enough the start of school which doesn't give us much time to get any alterations done.
"We are literally up the creek without the paddle at the moment.
"They know how much uniform they are going to need every year and they have failed and let people down.
"It doesn't just affect me it affects everyone else and the question is what other schools are being affected."
According to the Malling School's website a girl's uniform should include; black badged blazer, a plaid kilt skirt available only from Pages, a white blouse, long or short sleeved with a reverse collar, black or navy socks or black or natural tights.
Pages has been contacted for comment on several occasions.
