Students at a number of Maidstone schools have reported being chased by a man in the town centre.

Invicta Grammar School has taken the step of writing to parents to warn them, following several incidents of pupils being followed.

The Huntsman Lane school asked recipients of the letter to phone the police if their child reports being pursued.

The school added a number of other institutions in the town have received similar reports.

A police spokesman said the force had not been informed of any incidents.
