A primary school is helping raise £5,000 to help a family whose home was wrecked during a devastating fire.
Allington Primary's head of school Carolyn Howson launched the Crowdfunding page on Friday following the blaze.
More than £2,000 has been raised in just three days to cover the cost of the items lost in the fire.
Miss Howson, writing on the Crowdfunding page, said: "Allington is renowned for its ability to pull together in tough times and to offer support to all its residents.
"With that in mind, we have a family in our school community that needs our help. Yesterday, one of our school family’s home caught alight and they have lost so much.
"Today it is all a little surreal, but in the coming weeks the extent of what is gone will be apparent and they will need to rebuild their family home almost from scratch.
"The Hamilton Barnes family will need support to replace everything from a teaspoon to a sofa, and lots more in between and this is where we come in.
"If you are able to join us in helping the family on their journey, please make your donations on this page and spread the word.
"Every penny helps when we are supporting a family in need."
A spokeswoman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said to fire engines attended the house in Allington at around 4.30pm on Thursday, April 25.
The fire is believed to have started on the patio area before it spread to the building. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
