A world famous fast food chain is coming to a high street in Kent.
Taco Bell is set to open soon in Week Street, Maidstone.
The Mexican inspired fast food restaurant came to the UK in 2010 and currently operates 87 restaurants.
Kent saw its first Taco Bell arrive at the Chatham Dockyard in Medway.
The Maidstone branch will serve a variety of meaty and meatless burritos and tacos, and will have to compete with a range of other takeaway chains nearby, including McDonalds, KFC and Burger King.
Plans were first submitted by the company to the borough council in February 2020.
The fast food store is part of the Fremlin Walk ownership and will replace Bill's restaurant - which shut down in 2020 due to Covid-19.
Fremlin Walk centre manager, Lloyd Wright, said “We’re delighted that Taco Bell is to open in Maidstone, the brand fits perfectly with our plans and we can’t wait for the launch.
“There’s a huge amount of interest in Fremlin Walk at the moment, which is testament to the centre’s location and performance. Following a difficult trading period during the various Covid related lockdowns, many operators have reviewed their property requirements and are prioritising locations that can maximise trade."
At the end of last year customers saw two new stores open along Fremlin Walk.
This included the 100% vegan coffee operator, Viva Las Vegan, and vintage homeware specialist, Little Blue Finch.
Mr Wright added: “The quick service restaurant will be found next to Rush, on Week Street.
"We’re sure our customers will be overjoyed to say ‘hola’ to the new Taco Bell team while enjoying tasty tacos, bursting burritos, yummy nachos and their famous quesadillas...personally, I’ve got my eye on the Volcano Burrito."
