Serious crash closes M20 London-bound between Junctions 3 and 1

A lorry driver was taken to hospital with a suspected broken pelvis following a serious crash that closed the M20 last night.

The 55-year-old, who also suffered facial injuries, was trapped in the cab of his vehicle after three lorries collided on the London-bound carriageway between junctions 3 for Borough Green and 2 for Wrotham just before 9pm.

Fire crew spent more than an hour freeing the trapped man and he was taken to King's College Hospital in London.

Both carriageways were initially closed and the air ambulance was called but was not needed. The driver was taken to hospital by road.

The final section of the motorway reopened at about 2.30am, police said.
