Motorists face up to seven miles of tailbacks this morning due to appalling conditions and visibility.

Traffic has ground to a halt on the A249 Detling Hill, with drivers warned to expect up to 50 minutes of delays.

The stretch of the key commuter route from Key Street roundabout in Sittingbourne to the Junction 7 turn-off is particularly badly affected.
