Heavy rain has caused a sewage leak at Mote Park in Maidstone.
Southern Water have been called to make emergency repairs to a collapsed sewer.
The Environment Agency are working alongside Maidstone Borough Council to make sure the area is safe for visitors while work is being carried out.
One witness to the leak on Monday said the sewage "absolutely stunk".
Cllr Fran Wilson, Leader of Maidstone Borough Council, said: "We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may have caused, however, Southern Water have assured us that they are working as quickly as possible and we hope to have all areas of the park back to normal very soon."
Southern Water crews were dispatched to the park where they installed a pump to manage the flow of sewage and have contained the overspill with barriers.
The firm plans to put more pumps in place before removing the barriers and carry out an extensive clean-up including disinfecting the area.
Workers currently have no timeframe to complete the repairs because of the complexity of the fault.
The news of the leak comes after the park's main entrance had to be closed because of flooding which made it unsafe to pass.
Visitors had to use other entrances and were unable to use the whole car park as portions were affected.
