Maidstone: Sheep on the line between Maidstone and Ashford cause early morning delays on Southeastern services

Commuters have had a baaaaad morning of delays thanks to sheep blocking a railway line.

Southeastern services between Ashford and Maidstone were delayed early this morning.

The 6.04am train from Ashford International to Blackfriars was reportedly stopped for a few minutes due to the livestock.

Network Rail was called out to deal with the woolly wanderers, and the line was cleared just before 8.30am.

Southeastern trains run from Ashford International to Maidstone East twice an hour during the day, but the trains are more frequent early in the morning.

Southeastern Railway and Network Rail have been approached for comment.
