Two women were taken to hospital following a two-vehicle crash in a Maidstone estate this morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the smash in Willington Street just before 10am, and the road was shut for 200 yards in both directions.
Traffic was diverted through Shepway via Westmorland Road and Northumberland Road, with traffic building up in the area.
A witness said the collision between a red four by four and a blue Fiat 500 took place at the Woolley Road junction at around 9.30am.
Police were first on the scene and closed the road up to Sutton Road.
A mother and daughter, who were travelling in the Fiat, were injured in the collision.
The 56-year-old mother was treated for neck and leg injuries and taken to Tunbridge Wells hospital at Pembury, while her daughter was driven to Maidstone Hospital with ankle pain.
The driver of the four by four was uninjured.
The road was reopened at 11.40am.
