A student magazine outshone its competitors at this year’s Shine 2012 School Media Awards.
The creative team behind Tonbridge Grammar School’s publication, Scripted, walked away with gold from the ceremony, held in London’s Stationers’ Hall.
The annual contest recognises budding talent in the industry.
The classmates won the category for best original art work and photography, and were highly commended in four other sections, including best magazine, cover, design and layout, and feature article.
They received a QuarkXPress 9 publishing tool to use at their school in Deakin Leas.
The finalists were one of 25 entries at the awards presentation evening on Monday, June 15. More than 180 schools entered.
The hopefuls were judged by a panel of 16 experts, chaired by Simon Heffer, editor of the Daily Mail’s comment website.
