A FIRST-year student at the University for the Creative Arts in Maidstone has been found dead in his hall of residence.

The 22-year-old's body was found hanged in Westree Court, a short distance from the college campus at around 5pm on Friday by fellow students.

The man came from Catford, but police are yet to formally identify him.

Police say they are investigating but the death is not being treated as suspicious.

A spokesman for UCCA said: "We are in contact with the student's family and we would like to say that our thoughts are with his family and friends at this very sad time."
