A video showing the tensions in Maidstone High Street last night - on the evening one man was killed and four others injured - has been circulating on social media.

The footage shows a large number of people milling around in Jubilee Square and fights breaking out.

Moments later a man lay stabbed and dying on the pavement and four others were injured and required hospital treatment.

Police have launched a murder inquiry and four men arrested at the scene are still in custody.

The incident happened at around 3am this morning.

Jubilee Square and the upper end of the High Street remain cordoned off this afternoon.
