A 73-year-old man from Tonbridge has been arrested following reports of a sex assault in a busy newsagent's.

The man is in police custody in conection with the alleged attack in the Martin's store in Calverley Road, Tunbridge Wells at around 11.20am on Saturday.

CCTV images recovered from the store’s cameras were used in a police appeal this week.

Police praised members of the public who were said to have stepped in to challenge the alleged attacker.
