The eldest cleaner at The Mall Maidstone celebrates her birthday today.

Marjorie Rose has reached the ripe old age of 93, but is still going strong cleaning the shopping centre.

Local favourite Marge has been a cleaner at the complex for more than 30 years.

The College Road resident is still at work, despite being almost 30 years over the average retirement age in the UK.

The 93-year-old's employers tweeted a video of Marge to mark the occasion.

Suzie Brindle from The Mall said: “Marge is one of the hardest workers we’ve ever had the pleasure of working with here at The Mall Maidstone.

"She has been a fantastic member of the team for over 30 years and never fails to amaze us with her zest for life – and cleaning The Mall!”
