An accident near Maidstone led to slow-moving traffic on the M20 London bound.

Police were called at about 6am, after reports of a single-vehicle collision involving a Citroën C3.

At about 6.30am, traffic officers stopped transport for around five minutes while they assisted with the repositioning of the vehicle to the hard shoulder.

Traffic was moving slowly for several hours between J7 A249 (Maidstone/Detling Hill) and J6 A229 (Maidstone / Blue Bell Hill).

Congestion is easing but remains heavier than normal for rush hour.
