Readers have sent in stunning pictures of the snow, which settled across the area as a cold snap came to Kent

Kent's Amateur weatherman Lester Gosbee, from Frittenden, predicted the unlikely winter showers in his KM weather report on Friday.

"Arctic air is on its way for the weekend," he said.

And he said it is likely to stay cold all week, with the temperature unlikely to top 12C (53F).
