A total of 16 motorists were caught speeding through a village in just one day.
In a crackdown on those breaking the limits along Kent's rural roads, officers from the town’s Community Safety Unit carried out checks on motorists in Dean Street and Lower Road, East Farleigh.
All 16 drivers stopped due to their speed received a £100 fixed penalty notice for exceeding the 30mph limit.
Insp Steve Kent said: "We completed these checks following complaints from residents that pedestrians and others using the local roads, were being put in danger.
"Our intention was to remind drivers they have a responsibility to drive within the statutory speed limit and in a roadworthy vehicle.
"We repeat this enforcement and those who continue to put others at risk are likely to receive a fixed penalty notice or may have to appear at court."
