Staff and parents are "relieved" after a village nursery under threat of closure has secured a temporary home.
In February, Harrietsham Pre-School was told it had just six months to move out of a classroom rented from a neighbouring primary.
After two months of frantic searching, a provisional home has been found - Hollingbourne Village Hall.
The pre-school has to be out of its current West Street location by July and will move into the hall in September.
Manager Susan Snoad said: "We are relieved to have found somewhere but being in Hollingbourne will cause problems.
"A lot of the primary school staff have children in the nursery so the move will make it very difficult for them.
"And for parents who do not have cars, it is quite a walk to the village hall from the train station.
"But at least this means we are not closing."
With higher rent and it being hard for families to reach, Mrs Snoad hopes to spend no longer than a year at the Eyhorne Street address.
Plans for a permanent home are in motion, with a local landowner willing to build a site from scratch and rent it cheaply to the pre school.
Mrs Snoad added: "There are some very exciting ideas being talked about but it is all still early days."
More details of the project are yet to be revealed.
