The M20 has now reopened London-bound after three Ariel Atom cars were involved in a crash just after 2.30pm.
The accident involved four cars, three of which were the Ariel Atom high performance sports car, of which only 100 are said to be produced each year.
It's thought there were five Atoms travelling in convoy before the crash.
The Atom is said to be an unusual road car, having no roof or windows, with a clearly visible chassis.
In tests, a supercharged Atom was said to have accelerated from 0-100mph in 6.86 seconds.
Victims of the M20 crash are said to have suffered non life-threatening injuries in the accident between J9 for the A20 for Ashford and Faversham and J8 for Leeds Castle and the Maidstone services).
Police fire and ambulance crews are on the scene.
There are separate reports a lorry has lost a tyre on the coastbound stretch, which caused a car to hit the central reservation between J10 and J11 for Hythe.
A police spokesman said of the Ariel Atom crash: "The initial reports are of several people injured, but none of the injuries is believed to be life-threatening."
